Hairy Situations

Haircuts are a part of life. For the follicle challenged they are a dream of days gone by. For some people a haircut would be a religious faux pas. For me, having my hair cut has become a moment that I cherish. I have been lucky enough to have my ears lowered by a very special person in my life for over a year now.

Most people go to a hair salon or barber to get their hair cut by a stranger. Many may argue that they get to know their hair stylists very well over the years, but for most, you only really have contact with them when your hair gets out of control. To have someone you love that cuts only your hair is something precious. That person cares enough about you to take the time from their day to do this. Your hair is something everyone you meet will see. This person is helping to form your appearance. How much more intimate can you get?

I sincerely hope my personal hair stylist knows just how much her time and care has meant to me. While I’m sure everyone dreads getting their hair cut to some degree, at least I get the privilege of having it done by someone I love. I trust her completely and only wish I could do more to return such a touching and loving gesture as a haircut. Only she will understand this, but thanks for taming my roosters!
