Cartoons!

I love cartoons. Call me a child at heart, or whatever you want to, but I love them. I'm not talking just about the more "adult" cartoons such as "Family Guy" or "King of the Hill" (I do like both of those, however). I love most cartoons. I'd call it a guilty pleasure, but I'm not really guilty about it. Cartoons are more like a comfort to me. If I'm having a bad day I can always sit down, watch a few cartoons, and feel a little better.

When I watch a cartoon I know that by the end of the show, all the problems will be wrapped up. I know that nothing too serious is going to take place, and if the characters do get into trouble they will find comical and entertaining ways to work things out. Cartoons are all about clean, fun entertainment, and sometimes that's exactly what I need.

I love action, mystery, and depth in my stories as much as anyone, but some days I just don't want to have to figure out some convoluted plot. I want to watch a cartoon that is guaranteed to make me smile, but at the same time is nothing that I need to devote more than a half hour of my life to. The stories may be predictable, but to me, that's part of the charm.

If you’re having a bad day I recommend thinking back to those Saturday mornings spent watching cartoons. That’s all your childhood self needed for a great day. So push your problems out of your head for a while, grab a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and settle yourself onto the couch for a cartoon or two.
